School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

P&C meeting

Date: First Monday of each month

Time: 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Join our vibrant P&C.  Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month in the school staffroom. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Easter Hat Parade

Our annual Easter Hat Parade is held in Term 1 each year. Students enjoy creating their hats with one of their older buddies within the school and then showing them off for family and friends at our parade.

Book Week/Book Fair/Character Parade

Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week and enjoy dressing up for the Book Character Parade. Parents and friends of the school can come along and purchase a book or two from our Book Fair which is held in the same week.

Education Week/Open Day/Cupcake Day

During Education Week, we warmly invite families and community members to explore our open classrooms, where you can experience engaging lessons and innovative learning in action. The celebrations will also feature a vibrant performance showcase, highlighting the diverse talents of our students through music and dance. We also hold the most wonderful ‘cupcake day’ during this week.

Brewongle - Year 4 excursion

Brewongle Environmental Education Centre is a NSW Department of Education school. Our Year 4 students enjoy a 2 night/3 day excursion each year focusing on science, geography and history, as well as the cross-curriculum priorities Sustainability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures.

Sports Camps – Year 5/6 excursion

On odd years all Year 5/Year 6 students are invited to attend a 2 night/3 day excursion to a NSW Office of Sport ‘School Camp’. The school camp programs provide the opportunity for students to:

  • Understand how being physically active positively contributes to their current and future wellbeing.
  • Experience sporting and active recreation opportunities in a fun, safe and supportive environment that improves confidence and motivation to keep participating.
  • Recognise that sport and active recreation can be inclusive and available to everyone.
  • Enhance their resilience, independence and teamwork.

Canberra – Year 5/6 excursion

On even years all Year 5/Year 6 students are invited to attend a 2 night/3 day excursion to Canberra. Canberra offers a great variety of educational and fun activities for our students including the many museums and galleries, gardens and parliamentary buildings.

Schools Spectacular

Twelve of our talented Stage 3 dancers have participated in the Schools Spectacular each year for the past four years. The Schools Spectacular is an annual, large-scale performing arts event in Sydney, Australia, that showcases the talent of over 5,500 public school students from across New South Wales. It features a huge cast of dancers, singers, and musicians, as well as various specialized ensembles, in a world-class arena production. The event celebrates youth, education, culture, and diversity.

Bathurst South School Bands

The Bathurst South Public School band plays an important role within the school’s extra curricular activities. The band’s focus is to expand the students’ music education and help them to develop a passion for music and in particular their chosen instrument. The Band program is coordinated by Bandmaster Mr. Chris Dove in association with the school. The band program comprises of two bands (Junior and Senior). Individual, group and full band lessons occur on a weekly basis.
